Treating Customers in a Slightly Nicer Manner than Before: Lockshop Part 2

Hey girls and boys!

I've been asked by a few people to keep them up to date on my little situation with Lockshop Wigs. Now things have come to a close I can now provide you with further details and what resolution Lockshop and I both reached.

If you missed part one, read it here.

Where I left off last time was myself feeling rather insulted after the customer service team implied that I was 'threatening' them for putting the truth out about their treatment of myself and how I had to tell them I would put a PayPal dispute in if I didn't receive some sort of response.

I'll be honest and admit that I was angry and upset after that response. As a result I sent the below response to Lockshop:

It wasn't my smartest move quoting laws that most likely don't have any effect on Lockshop. I'm also unfamiliar with disputing things via the internet (trust me it is so much easier in real life) that this was my first time confronting a company that had provided me with less than stellar service over the Internet.

After posting a link to my previous blog post to my personal facebook I was urged my friends to lodge a PayPal dispute, which I did.

As per the screencap, I did receive an e-mail from the owner of Lockshop who was pleasant to speak to as well as understanding and sympathetic to my predicament. She was nothing like the Customer Services Team to my relief.

The reason there was a delay between Lockshop replying and my response was due to taking a vacation, which was the reason I needed the wig, and I didn't want to reply to such an important e-mail from my iPhone. In addition this provided me with additional time to cool my head and think through things rationally.

Something that did catch my attention was that the tracking number provided was seemingly incorrect? I had previously tracked the parcel myself so I know the number exists and the parcel was definitely shipped but the number they provided to PayPal came up as invalid when I attempted to track it. I'm not sure if it was a typing error on their part?

As previously stated I did receive a polite and courteous e-mail from the owner from Lockshop, or the person I've heard to be the owner from a few friends. I was really relieved to receive something as I felt like I was no longer being ignored and pushed aside by Lockshop, although I am slightly disappointed I had to go through with lodging a PayPal dispute.

I'm really sorry for the width of the below screenshot as I couldn't make it any smaller without distorting the text to it being unreadable.

I sent an amicable response back on 27th May to which I haven't yet actually received a response for. As this was sent to a personal e-mail address as opposed to a company e-mail address I think that this may be understandable.

As my e-mail is very long I've chosen some parts of it. If people would like to see the full version I have no problem with providing this. It included screenshots proving that all e-mails I claimed I had sent were actually sent, proof that the address used had hundreds of other parcels delivered to it, etc.

The whole e-mail is me pretty much giving Lockshop a little bit of a scolding!

After this I received an e-mail from PayPal saying that Lockshop had requested that this to be raised to a claim and if I didn't respond they would rule in Lockshop's favour. A few days after this I received an e-mail from PayPal saying that they were now asking Lockshop for further information.

As the Resolution Centre didn't update and I received no further e-mails from PayPal I can only assume Lockshop didn't respond to this request. However, I also received no further e-mails from Lockshop either so I'm not too sure what is happening on their side of things.

This morning I received an e-mail from PayPal saying that they had ruled the case in my favour.

Whilst I'm pleased about this, I've been left with a sour taste in my mouth after being let down by what I thought was a really reputable company who's wigs I've been admiring for the longest time. I would have honestly loved to have received my wig in the end and be proven wrong but here I am, wigless (although with my money back!).

As an admirer of their wigs for the longest time I'm honestly just disappointed. I had planned to purchase their Starlet wig in a variety of colours as it was everything I wanted the Mermaid wig to be and more. The Gunmetal, Flaxen and Vanille colourways of this particular style were absolutely gorgeous! I guess I'm going to be looking for a dupe of those now as I imagine I'm on Lockshop's blacklist as I managed to receive a refund and caused some trouble for them and because I'm not sure I want to deal with a company that gave me such a headache all over again.

Really, wigs shouldn't be this much effort!

Whilst I was looking for reviews on Lockshop hoping my case was a one off I only found one negative review which Lockshop quickly amended. Since posting my troubles with them I've noticed a few other people calling them out on the quality of their wigs, etc. which is a little troubling.

My experiences with Lockshop may just be one negative case in a sea of thousands of positive reviews but I can only urge people to bear my case in mind whilst purchasing from Lockshop. No wig is worth this amount of trouble.

How Not to Treat Customers: A Negative Lockshop Review

After lusting after their wigs for absolutely months I finally bit the bullet and purchased a wig from Lockshop as mentioned in a GETS post from late last month. I had a few e-mails from you lovely blogders asking me to review the wig once it came which I have been eagerly awaiting to do.

Unfortunately, my review of Lockshop is less than glowing and I won't be able to use the lashings of compliments I was saving for their wigs. I've always heard about how good quality they are, how quickly items arrive and how nice the customer service team is which is why I chose to purchase from Lockshop instead of one of my usual wig providers.

However, I honestly can say I don't recommend Lockshop as a wig provider as I'm thoroughly disappointed by the treatment I've received from them.

I purchased the wig well in advance as I required this by today, 22nd May, and had an absolutely smooth payment run. All transactions were completed via PayPal.

Shortly after I made the grave error of clearing out my inbox, clearing out the e-mails I had received from Lockshop in the process. I really regret doing that as it had my tracking number in. The site Lockshop had sent me for tracking was deutschepost.de and I had successfully tracked the wig a few times before I lost all e-mails received between 17th April - 23rd April which was when these emails were sent.

I have tried restoring them from my Deleted folder but nothing will bring them up.

On 14th May I began to get concerned that no parcel had arrived. The YesAsia order I ordered the same day and was dispatched well after the Lockshop order had already arrived. As Lockshop is based within the EU I began to wonder if there had been a problem with my parcel and if there was anything that I could do resolve it if that was the case.

Using the information that was available to me on their Paypal, Tumblr, etc. I sent Lockshop an e-mail hoping to get some help from them in trying to locate my missing parcel. In the e-mail I included my full name which is what I had ordered under as well as the Paypal ID which they would have been able to look up and associate an order number with.

I awaited a response to my e-mail and checked my Spam folder every day. However, I didn't receive a response from them. Beginning to become frustrated I began venting on social media platforms such as Twitter hoping I would get a response as I could see that they had been updating their Instagram, Twitter, etc. and I was feeling ignored.

During this time period Lockshop, who have never ever associated with me before, began 'liking' pictures on my Instagram which was frustrating.

Lockshop's Twitter representative was nothing but helpful with me which was something I greatly appreciated! They advised I send another e-mail and also use the Contact Us form on Lockshop's website.

This is when alarm bells first started going off in my head as I found it slightly alarming that they had overlooked an e-mail that was sent to an e-mail address that Lockshop have been actively promoting on their Tumblr, Facebook, etc. as seen below:

I sent another e-mail and have received no response.

Beginning to become angry and frustrated at Lockshop I used the contact form on the website. I vented my frustrations and mentioned that I felt as though I could no longer recommend Lockshop to my blog readers and friends due to the poor service I had received from them so far. I also mentioned that if I didn't get a response (bearing in mind this was the third time I had attempted to contact them) I would be opening a Paypal dispute as I have not received the goods I paid for.

Due to becoming annoyed I was less polite in this message to them as I had been in previous messages.

I was surprised to receive a message back from Lockshop shortly after as by this point in time I had spent over a week trying to garner some sort of response from their customer service team. When filling in their Contact Us form it asks for order details (Order ID, etc.)

I was surprised when they asked for details I had already provided them with as well as insinuating that asking for my money back due to non-receipt of goods and poor service was threatening. Informing my blog readers of exactly how I've been treated by Lockshop with truthfully as I can with evidence is not threatening. It is simply telling the truth. Even if I had received my goods I would be doing a review mentioning at how poor I find Lockshop's Customer Services team.

It also feels as though Lockshop's Customer Service is unwilling to help me and is only begrudgingly doing so as it is their job,

Their response also confirmed one of my fears: Lockshop aren't actively checking an email address they are promoting for their store. Overlooking one e-mail I can understand, especially when they are in a busy period of moving warehouses. Two, not so much, especially when this e-mail address was the same one linked to their Paypal.

Adding insult to injury I woke up this morning to Lockshop liking Instagram photos of mine after being rude to me so I'm even less impressed with them. I'm being unbelievably petty but it feels like it's been in bad taste.

Would I recommend Lockshop to my readers?

No, I would not.

Would I purchase from Lockshop again?

I'm not particularly fond of throwing my money away for nothing. I had considered purchasing their Starlet wig or a Lucky Pack if they were still in stock if my wig ever showed up but that's out of the question.

I am honestly disappointed with my experience from what I thought was a reputable company. I will be continuing to purchase wigs from my current providers, one of those being Coscraft who tend to get my wigs to me the day after ordering.

Thank you for reading!

Blonde Hair

Do I look good with it? I hope so! I'm actually wearing no make-up here and before you point out the lips they're a quick photoshop because they looked so pale. I still need to cut and style this which I'm really not looking forward to, ugh. I've no idea where to start!

Split Wig Review

I've recently fallen in love with split hair. One half of the hair one colour, the other another, you know? My natural hair is too short and rubbish to deal with dyeing it so I started looking into wigs. I've seen some pretty extreme wigs (like, one half black the other half platinum blonde). I wanted a more natural looking wig and I was over the moon when I found one... but for a very high price. I managed to find an alternative, cheaper wig from eBay!

I bought this wig from cosplaywig at eBay.

Some facts about the wig!
♚ it's a caramel marple brown colour
♚ it's 70cm long!
♚ it has heat resistant fibres so you can style it with heat!

This isn't a very good picture of me wearing it. I'm in work clothes and I looked hideous on the picture so I covered my face!

It doesn't really look split on this picture, does it? I was a little disappointed; I wanted it to be subtle but it felt like it was too subtle. I felt so bad about cutting it because it's absolutely gorgeous. The wig itself is so thick and so soft and a lot longer than it looks on the website! I'm really surprised with how thick it is as I was expecting a wig that was a lot thinner. It does tangle easily but that's to be expected for longer wigs and running your fingers through it sorts them out no problem!

What I really loved about this was that it took 7 days to arrive from the day I bought it. I think it's the fastest shipping I've ever had!

Here's some photos of the wig with and without flash.

With flash.

Without flash.

With flash it looks really shiny and almost unnatural but without flash it really does look so natural! The fringe is a little wonky ha ha, I'll have that properly sorted this weekend as I'll have someone with me to help cut it. I'm still a little nervous about wearing this out and about, what do you guys think?

If you're looking for an inexpensive way to have split hair without forking out too much I'd recommend purchasing this. I was looking for a subtle split and this was almost too subtle for me. If you're looking for a more extreme split there are other websites you can visit.
