This is Galoween

It's October and I'm fairly certain that you all know what that means - Halloween. Whilst Japan may not be quite as in love with the holiday as the Western world is, in recent years it's started to gain more and more popularity. Bring on Ageha and their Ageha Koakuma Halloween Cosplay to help gyaru celebrate the most spooky time of year in style. The outfits are pretty cute as gyaru don't want to cover themselves in all of that gross fake blood... or do they?

My personal favourite is the classic devil, or koakuma if you like, costume. A few of these are cute but there are some others which are a little tacky (police woman, anyone?) which I'd avoid like the plague.

What do you guys think? Would you wear one of these?

SPLIT: Tsubasa Masuwaka & Naoki Umeda?!

Rumour has it that Tsubasa Masuwaka will be divorcing her husband, Naoki Umeda, by the end of the year.

Their reasoning? Differences, of course. Apparently there has been a big change in their values and sense of money since Tsubasa became popular, and they have supposedly been living apart since February of this year. Since Naoki was missing from Tsubasa's birthday party on October 12th, it's starting to look as though these rumours have some sort of truth behind them.

If this is the case, that's pretty sad. They've always managed to look as though they've been living a happy, healthy family life. It's also pretty sad on their son since they'll definitely both want custody over him.

It's expected that the divorce will be finalised by the end of the year.

At least, that would be the case if this story were to be true. Both Tsubasa and Naoki's agencies have denied these reports and claim that they won't be getting a divorce as they're not seperated. Tsubasa has also took to her blog to deny these claims.

To be honest, I would prefer for them not to have a divorce. They look fantastic together and it would be the best for their young son. Time will only tell.

UPDATE: This story has been rubbished and I am super glad to hear the two aren't divorcing. I'm wishing the happy couple all the best!

Dance like a Ballerina~

This is a bit of a lazy post. I recently fell in love with a half Japanese, half American singer named MAA back around the time her Monkey Kingdom album was released. Once upon a time MAA was the lead singer of MarBell, but then became a solo artist after the group disbanded. MAA goes for a 'witchy' sort of image which is really intriguing.

She's recently released her first full length studio album which is called (I kid you not) BUBBLEMAN ENGINE.

The cover is a little provocative! As you can guess she's a very... kooky sort of person. That's not a bad thing though; it works perfectly for MAA. Some of my favourite song titles on the album include 'no bra sleepwalk' and 'F.B.;' if you're wondering that stands for Favourite Bitches. One of the song titles on her Monkey City album that stands out is 'Virgin Killer Santa'. With the sound she goes for it works perfectly!

MAA isn't full out kooky though. Some of her songs touch on the more serious, such as OKay and Hangover Payback whereas some are straight out peppy such as Ballerina Brain System. She's definitely an artist to check out!

Gyaru Nail Spam

If you've ever seen gyaru, you'll know that their nails are always really fabulous! They wear them asaprt of their outfit and some of the results are amazing. I'm pretty sure they'd be really expensive to have, and I'm also sure that doing simple tasks may be made even more difficult but they're definitely eye-catching!

Actually, this post is more of an inspiration post for me since I have horrid little stubby nails!

One of my favourite singers, Ayumi Hamasaki, was once crowned Nail Queen for her love of fancy nails. Nowadays she mainly sticks to toned down styles.

Koda Kumi has also worn some pretty interesting nails in her time too!

So, how about it? Would you wear these or would you not be seen dead in them? Let me know!

Oh H&M...

I'm a little surprised that I'm actually going to be writing this post, as I gave H&M such a lovely blog post a few days ago!

Anyway~
I went to town today. I had a couple of errands to run and it was raining so I didn't want to be too over the top. What I styled myself like was super boring because of it and was much less effort than normal!

Top: New Look
Skirt: H&M
Tights: No idea
Boots: I can't remember at the moment
Bracelet: Clares Accessories

Sorry for the really dark picture; it was gloomy and rainy outside! I did pretty basic make-up too because of the rain. My hair wasn't styled too well either because I was going to get my hair cut so I didn't want to make it OTT.

Don't I look happy and cheerful and colourful? I'm not sure why my lipstick wasn't showing up.

Anyway, I went into Town and did my errands (and got well and truly soaked in the process) so I popped into H&M. I bought a white jersey since my current one shrank so I'm pleased I found a new one. I also bought a cream hat and mittens set. They're really cute!

But...
When I was walking in stores and out I kept setting the alarms off. It was pretty embarrassing and I didn't know why! When I got home I pulled out everything I bought and had a look to discover this:

They'd forgotten to take the security tag off! Here's proof I bought it incase people are gonna start accusing me of stealing~

As you can see, the price of the hat and mittens match up to the receipt.

I'm gonna have to trek all the way back into Town to get them to take it off as it's an ink tag. I'm not happy at all! Bus fare isn't cheap at the moment either so I'm really annoyed at them. Maybe I'll ask to speak to the manager and kick up a fuss haha...

Spotted!: Fox Tails

Fox tails have been practically a gal staple for the past few years or so. I first became aware of them after Ayumi Hamasaki began wearing them following the release of her evolution PV ten years ago back in 2001.

Wow yeah~

Gals are always wearing these; you only have to look at egg, ageha and all of the other gal mags throughout the years to see these! You can normally find them online for a decent sort of price, although the only problem is that you can't guarantee if it's a real tail or a synthetic tail. This has always put me off purchasing one as I'd prefer for it not to be real.

As I was taking a break from work I wandered onto the H&M website and I was pleasantly surprised they were selling a fox tail bag charm! Naturally, I expect that it is quite small considering it's for a bag and relatively cheap (£4) but other than that it looks pretty good. At least now you won't have a massive tail on a tiny bag!

You can check it out here if you're interested.

Hope you all have a good day! I have some gal nail spam coming up for you within the next few posts!

Missguided

Hey guys and gals!

I hope you've all been okay. I know I have! It was my boyfriend and I's second anniversary yesterday! We haven't celebrated it yet but I'm going to see him in a few weeks so I'm sure we'll celebrate then.

In the meantime, I eventually found time to check out Missguided and I'm really unsure how I've not looked at this before. Whilst it may not be the biggest or best webstore around there are a few items of clothing which I think would look great with gal style.

Hooray for a picture sloppily put together on a Sunday night!

I'm not sure if this can be considered 'gal' as it doesn't have many of this season's trends in, but some of the things in this outfit remind me a little of Liz Lisa. I really do love Liz Lisa so I'm pretty stoked at this.
The dress is really sweet, don't you think? I really like the bows on it and knitwear is always approved with how cold it's going to get! You can get the dress in a white colour too, but I really like pink.

The bag reminds me most of gal style. The bow is really nice and I can imagine this hanging off the arm of Tsubasa or Mizukitty. It looks pretty big too so it'd be perfect for shopping!

The other elements were kinda thrown together at last minute to be honest. I do like the idea of the glasses and tights (although the tights may not necessarily go well with these...) I actually really want this outfit! I think it's the sort of thing you can dress down to look stylish and casual, or dress up to look smart and sophisticated.

Perfect!

What other webstores do you gals like to use?

Hello October!

Wow, I can't believe October is here! This year is really passing by quick, isn't it? Let's haven an update of the last few days of September from yours truly.

I went to a party last week! My Aunt Sarah is moving all the way to Australia so it was her leaving party. I was going to play it safe and wear a little black dress but I couldn't find it. Instead, I wore a pink one!

I look really weird here. And now for the one with less filters on it...

I look weird in this one too. I have a really weird face, don't I? Oh well (I guess!)

Dress: Lipsy
Ring #1: I dunno. I 'borrowed' it from my sister.
Ring #2: Primark
Shoes: Irregular Choice
Bag: Irregular Choice

What happened was the outfit I was going to wear just... disappeared when I went to get ready. The shoes, bag, jewellery, dress... everything. I think I must have elves in my wardrobe that are stealing my clothes! This was pulled together in... ten minutes? Basicaly I grabbed the first things I could find.

I'm supposed to be at a fancy dress party tonight but it's too hot to go! I overheat really easily so I'd rather not collapse. That reminds me, I was at a meeting a few days ago. It was taking place right next to the Angel of the North!

It was so hot that day I was glad to be out of the office.

That's all for now. Exciting, wasn't it?
