10 More Gyaru Brands

Gyaru brands come in and out of Shibuya 109 like a revolving door. In comes a new brand, out goes a dearly beloved brand that just couldn't make it (remember when everyone loved W♥C?) in the number one fashion haven. With that in mind it's time to look at some of the brands we didn't look at back in 2012 when there was the little Gyaru Month back on the blog.

Ank Rouge

Following the sweet style and taking cues from the famous Liz Lisa, Ank Rouge follows the himekaji style to a route. It's a little different from Liz Lisa so it's perfect for those girls who love himekaji but aren't a fan of the cookie cutter look that Liz Lisa has a tendency to bring with it.

Popular with: Himekaji, Hime Gyaru, Roma Gyaru

DreamV

Also known as Yumetenbo.

DreamV may not be considered a 'brand' by some but it's cheap, affordable gyaru clothing that ships overseas. It follows himekaji and agejo styles mainly but with cheap shoes and cheap clothes it's easy to mix and match for the perfect look.

Popular with: Himekaji, Agejo, Rokku, Onee

GHOST OF HARLEM

Ghost of Harlem's main aim to make clothing that 'expresses the unusual world'. Now, Ghost of Harlem isn't a Shibuya 109 store and is found in La Foret and Harajuku but it's still a gyaru brand; the girls love it. Sakurina is a huge fan of the brand and models for it. She's also snapped shopping there frequently.

Popular with: Rokku, Harajuku

JSG

JSG is a fun brand (think: Galaxxxy). Whilst it might not fit the gyaru style outright a few items tend to be picked up and used. Standing for Japanese Super Girl the brand is fun with bright prints and bold, brash colours. It's not for everyone.

Popular with: Manba, Tsuyome, B-Gal, Gyaru-kei, Harajuku

JugeETTA

JugeETTA is Liz Lisa's older sister. It has himekaji and roma elements whilst being suitable for the older girls who are afraid that they have outgrown Liz Lisa. It's not as sweet as Liz Lisa and definitely has a more mature look that some girls who can't give up himekaji are looking for.

Popular with: Himekaji, Roma Gyaru, Onee

Laguna Moon

At a first glance, Laguna Moon may not scream, "THIS IS GYARU," at you as it looks somewhat similar to what you could find at your local shopping centre but I assure you, it is. The gyaru who grace the pages of magazines love this brand. This is more suitable for your onee girls.

Popular with: Onee

me Jane

It genuinely makes me sad that I never see girls announce that they're wearing me Jane. They're another onee kind of brand with a celebrity like look. The clothes I've seen are luxurious and more glamourous than that some of the other stores offer. It can be overlooked easily, though.

Popular with: Onee, Gyaru-kei

Princess Melody

Another hime gyaru brand. It's a little more agejo style than the others whilst still being distinctively hime. It's not as elaborate as Jesus Diamante or La Parfait but the dresses are genuinely nice and it's modelled by Himena, one of the leading himegyaru models.

Popular with: Himegyaru

Sexpot Revenge

Dark, gritty and edgy, Sexpot Revenge is another rokku brand. What's unique is that as well as women, this brand also caters to mean and is more likely to be seen on the page of Kera than it is Popteen.

Popular with: Rokku, Harajuku
Website

titty&co.

Things you never thought you would have to say: "I got my shirt from titty." titty&co. is a nice brand that manages to cover a wide range of styles without sitting too much in one substyle.

Popular with: Onee, Roma Gyaru

There are so many gyaru brands! What's your favourite?

Stay sweet. ♥

DreamV Quality Review

Blog reader Jessica gave me the idea to do a post on how some of the clothing I purchased from DreamV looked as compared to the website.

As always, I purchased these products with my own money.

The last two items I purchased from DreamV were these two dresse in Smoky Blue and Beige. The blue dress is super sweet and I think it stands out more in the blue than the pink.

With DreamV you definitely get what you pay for. The clothing is super cute but they're often cheaply made. You sacrifice nice materials for affordable prices.

Apologies for the pictures, it was raining outside on my free day so getting nice lighting was a pain.

The material is opaque and wrinkles really easily! It's a pain to keep nice. The skirt is thankfully not as opaque but because it's gathered it creases really easily due to the fabric.

Funnily enough, when you wear the dress it looks much nicer, not as opaque and a lot of the creases and wrinkles just... disappear.

Magic fabric?

Who knows...

The buttons sometimes look a little crooked. As you can see, they're not secured on with thick thread and have only a little to keep it secured onto the dress.

I find this to be standard for all DreamV products.

Nonetheless, the buttons have not come off any of my dresses from them yet so I guess they're studier than they look!

I think this picture has the best representation of the colour of the dress. The sleeves are incely sewn on.

One of my bows is crooked but I think that's something I can fix myself.

The open holes on the sleeves are super cute!

This is the zipper on the inside of the beige dress. I'm not particularly happy about how it looks but because it's on the inside of the dress it won't be visible.

The fabric is also opaque, but not as much as the smoky blue dress that I showcased before.

As previously said, with DreamV you get what you pay for but the clothes always look so cute when worn! The pictures on their website are sometimes a little misleading on the quality of the goods. In addition some of their things are made nicer than others; the polka dot dress feels so much better than the others and isn't as opaque. It's a super cute dress too.

You can purchase directly from their webstore but I'd recommend knowing at least some Japanese. Overseas buyers have to confirm the shipping via email in Japanese.

As a note, as a UK buyer everytime I've ordered from them I've been hit by customs chargers so always factor the additional cost in. Both times, my charges were £20.00

Because I'm super vain and I found a part of my room that gives me gorgeous pictures provided I lay down and add the filter I showed you guys about, here's a bonus picture of me.

As long as it makes me look pretty, I'm not moving from here okay??

See you guys soon!

BB Cosmetics

Just a quick post guys! Sorry for the small break, I've had a bit of a shock to the system and I'm ill with both a chest infection and cold. I couldn't resist passing on this bit of news though.

I'm sure you've all heard of BB Creams as they're really popular at the moment. I really want to try one so I may do once my current foundation runs out. If you're unfamiliar with BB Creams, I highly recommend checking out this article.

Anyway, BB Cosmetics, a UK based company which sells genuine BB Creams, is looking for bloggers to test their products! My blog isn't all that popular, but for you folk with popular blogs I'd recommend e-mailing them. Their twitter advises e-mailing info@bbcosmetics.co.uk if you're interested.

Talk to you guys shortly!
